The avatar is of the Ballade no.1 in Gm? No?

Nice avatar, and welcome to the forum!

The first ballade is also my favorite ballade, and one of my favorite piano pieces of all time.

You have a tattoo of Chopin's first ballade, Chopinballade? :) That's really cool, though a little too much, but that's quite interesting. Do you think you could post a picture of it for us to see?

I remember someone at CF had a tattoo of the Raindrop prelude on their arm...

Thanks and yes lol... its quite permanent, im not as obssesed with chopin as i once was, but i still am and i think that ballade is the most beautiful piece of music ever so i had to get it. The artist did a pretty good job drawing the sheet music to scale and a good job tattooing it on. For 150 bucks i really can't complain...maybe i will get ballades 2, 3 and 4 around my other arm and my legs...haha.

LOL

That would be nice. Did it hurt to get the tatoo? What did your parents think(if you still live with them :D)? Do people usually have strange reactions?

Nah it didn't hurt that bad...only in the tenderparts and on the bone. i actually got this when i was 18 right after i moved to florida so my parents didnt know until i came back about a year and a half ago. Usually when people come up to me and ask me what music it is..i tell them and they dont know what its is so pretty much now when someone asks me i just mess with them(usually old people) and say its van halen or limp biscuit or some other crappy band. hehe

That tattoo is quite cool...better than dragons and hearts in my opinion. Why did you put fingerings on the tattoo though?

That tattoo is awesome.

Maybe if you're daring and have enough body space, get the entire ballade tattooed to you; then we could use you as a book to play it. ;)

The entire ballade would be cool.

BTW, why did you choose that part of the music? Is that your favorite section?

indeed, that theme is my second favorite section of the piece, the climax in towards the middle is my fav but it was just to confusing to tattoo... i actually didnt want the fingerings on, but i guess he copied everything and then about quarter of the way through i noticed he was doing them so i couldnt turn back..oh well...hopefully they are chopins fingerings...they are from the mikuli edition and i know that on a lot of chopins pieces he put the fingerings he "thought" chopin would want, but it turns out he wasnt right on all of them...hopefully he was on this one because i cant find an original manuscript anywhere.
