Trills

I have a question.
In the opening to Sonata no.10 K.330 by Mozart, would you play that trill to its full value and connect it with the tag-along that goes to the next measure, or would you cut is short and then play the tag? Horowitz seems to cut the trill a little shorter than I do. I was just wondering if it has to be seperated from the tag.

I would sustain the trill for its full value.
In the recordings of Horowitz that I have heard, he usually cuts the trill off short, as in the Heroic Polonaise.

Since this is the classical period, and from conjecturing the styles used to play the piano in those times, I would say a more strict consideration of value for the trill should be pragmatic. Horowitz is a pianist of more romantic disposition: he incorporates Romantic elements to a effective degree. If you are aiming to be amongst Horowitz's style, then do as he does. But for consistency, I would play the full value of the trill, connecting it to the consecutive note, as should be for most trills of the 18th century.
