i dont really know what to choose, they are all my fav.
the 3rd mov, with the pedal it sounds very melancholy, it sounds very playful with a bright touch.

Beethoven invented piano fury, as you would put it.

I like the whole sonata. It fits together perfectly.

That is correct, he was the first person to put all his emotions in his music, hence things such as fury, sadness, love, hate and....

Simply amazing. When I played this for my recital a couple of years ago, it brought a whole flock of some other student's relatives eagerly asking me questions in Mandarin, which I can't understand beyond the basic phrases.

I've heard Pollini's and Arrau's Beethoven (both the Op. 111) and I loved them. I'll check out their Pathetique, and especially Brendels. I have no Brendel and I am ashamed for it.

Best recordings of Pathetique sonata are the usual: Kempff, Arrau, Brendel, Goode, and Schnabel.

Schnabel was like Brendel of his time, a Beethoven freak, but it's kinda hard to find his recordings here, has anyone heard any of his recordings?

I don't always like Kempff. He might be a good example of how it "should", but I find listening to him play rather boring.
