i just doubt that i have the endurance to play op53 from the beginning to the end. (i got tired even by only playing the middle section and the following 2 pages)

well, at lease Un Sospiro is enjoyable to learn.

hmm well I can't just choose one so I'll just list what's popping into my head now..

Dream Piece
- Brahms Paganini Variations (both books)
- Polonaise Op.53/6 in A flat Major
- The Revolutionary Etude
- La Campanella
- Liebestraum No.3

Realistic Piece
hmm... maybe a Liszt Consolation..
or a Brahms Hungarian Dance..
or maybe a Dvorak Silhouettes Op.8
or maybe if I'm a good girl, a harder Chopin waltz (like the Brillantes)...
the future is truly unknown with my teacher :?

Dream: Opus Clav, Alkan Concerto, Busoni's Concerto, Brahms Second Concerto

Realistic (but in a very very long time): A good chunk of Godowsky etudes (consider the other chunk in "dream"), complete Liszt Etudes, Alkan's Symphony, Bach's Goldberg Variations, Beethoven's op. 109, complete Mozart sonatas for the heck of it...oh and all of Liszt's orchestra and piano works would be cool.

Hmm...well there's quite a bit more, but whatever.

Some dream pieces:
- Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit
- Ravel's piano concertos
- Ravel's tobeau le couperin (or something similar..)
- Ravel's other piano works
- Many Chopin(/Godowsky), Rach and Scriabin etudes
- Many many other pieces......

I won't start limiting my chances of learning these by thinking of some "realistic" goals ;) A few years ago Für Elise was a hard piece for me. Today Chopin's 10/2 is a hard one but for example Rach's 39/1 isn't that bad. Who knows what I'll be able to play in a couple years...

Dream pieces (I have a lot of them):

Chopin ballade no.2 and 4, preludes no.16 and 24, Chopin sonatas no.2 and 3. Liszt TE no.4 and 8, Concert etude in F minor, Hungarian Rhapsody no.2, many more I can't think of of LIszt. Beethoven Appasionata and Waldstein, Bach P and F in C# major book I.

In the next three years I hope to play: Chopin ballade no.1, HR 2 of Liszt, and Un Sospiro.

I would love to play the Fantasie-Impromptu, though the cross-rhthyms have made me quit each time I attempt to play it.
